Welcome to Union County’s Golf Courses.
We invite you to come experience what we proudly call the “home of public golf”—our spectacular courses at Galloping Hill in Kenilworth and Ash Brook in Scotch Plains, NJ.
Union County’s two golf courses and practice facilities give golfers of all ages the opportunity of a lifetime to play on quality courses at reasonable prices. From par three to championship length, our top notch facilities at Galloping Hill in Kenilworth and Ash Brook in Scotch Plains have courses and instruction to suit beginner and expert golfers alike. Easily accessible to Union County residents as well as visitors to Central Jersey, and managed by KemperSports, our public golf courses offer the playability, customer service and amenities of more expensive private clubs.
Union County’s golf operations offer the quality, service, affordability and convenience that make this popular sport even more enjoyable. Choose between the parkland style 18-hole course at Ash Brook or the hills and valleys of the course at Galloping Hill. Enjoy the family-friendly nine-hole pitch and putt at Ash Brook or sharpen your skills at the Learning Center at Galloping Hill, complete with its First Tee classes and camps for young golfers, a state-of-the-art all-weather 50-stall driving range, PGA-certified instructors, and a nine-hole practice course.
We continue to build brand and burnish our credentials as a state leader in golf, with a number of new announcements this year:
We are partnering with the NJ State Golf Association, with an agreement to move their headquarters to Galloping Hill by the end of the year. We will be hosting the NJ Open Championship in 2016, the first time in the event’s 112-year history at a public, county-owned course.
We have also increased our outreach into the community in our effort to grow the game of golf:
We have become the headquarters for the First Tee of Raritan Valley--the PGA of Americas’ outreach program for kids.
We have developed a program where PGA Professionals work with intramural programs with high schools throughout Union County to increase the popularity of the sport.
Whether you are a first-time or a lifelong golfer, or you if have time for a bucket of balls, the County of Union and our partners at KemperSports invite you to share in the excitement that is making Galloping Hill and Ashbrook the best public courses in New Jersey.
