Advanced Junior Academy

16 weeks of instruction beginning on the 1st or 2nd week of April.  Currently offering classes on Monday from 4:30pm-6:30pm at The Learning Center.  The Advanced Junior Clinic will have 8 weeks of two hour practice sessions conducted on the driving range and on The Learning Center 9 hole course, and 8 weeks of a supervised practice/group clinic.  During the time of the supervised practice the students will work on what was discussed in previous lessons, at which point the instructor will observe how each junior player practices during their own time.  This class is a smaller group setting, providing more focused individual instruction.

Please contact the pro shop for more information, (908)241-8380.

Intramural High School Golf

This class is offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday beginning in early April, running for a period of 6 weeks.  Available to all high school programs in the immediate area, students practice twice a week, Tuesday and Friday, or Wednesday and Friday, for a two hour session.  Designed for kids who are on a local high school team or would like to participate with one, this class progresses students from the basic fundamentals, to playing in 9 hole matches.  This class is offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30pm - 5:30pm.

Coaches of local high school programs are encouraged to contact the pro shop for further details (908)241-8380.

Supervised Practice

The Supervised Practice will have one of our PGA Professionals overseeing the students practice regimen.  The staff professional will provide the student with valuable insight on how to improve their swing and their game, what they should be working on, how to practice effectively, and be given drills and tools to practice on their own time.  The fees include unlimited range use during the class time frame.  This is a great way for students from the same high school program to continue practicing with their teammates, as well as, other school programs in the area.  Students are encouraged to join this program with other players on their high school team and to coordinate this practice session with their coaches.

*This is a 90 minute class, video analysis is available

Fall High School Golf

Our longest running program, with our Director of Golf, Pete Busch, starting this program over 20 years ago.  The Fall High School Golf Program is designed to keep young golfers engaged and continuing to practice during the fall season.  Pete noticed there was a void for kids to continue their practicing during the fall season.  This is open to all kids in the area that are either on a high school team or are trying to get involved in high school golf.  The advantage of this program is that this is a way for high school kids to continue to compete throughout the fall against some of the better players in the area.

We have had a large following with this group, as we are restricted to the first 50-60 players that join the program.  With this, we are allowed to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 players per event.  Kids will enjoy 2 or 3 matches a week at a number of golf courses in union county and surrounding golf courses.  All play is from scratch, however there will be a number of different flights that will be created to better group the players based on their availability.  Each round of golf will be played under a different format, individual stroke play, better ball, blind partners, skins, or scramble.  We have found that having a variety of matches and formats has increased students participation.

There is a registration fee, as well as a weekly entry fee, which is determined by the host golf course.  Weekly entry fees will be awarded in gift certificates that will be distrubuted at the year end championship and pizza party.

This is an outstanding program for students to continue playing golf during the fall months and a way to get exposure to some of the prestine golf courses in the area.
